There exists only the present instant… a Now which always and without end is itself new. There is no yesterday nor any tomorrow, but only Now, as it was a thousand years ago and as it will be a thousand years hence.

This morning I discovered this beautiful blog, Reflections on Being Present.
Labor not after riches first, and think thou afterwards wilt enjoy them. He who neglecteth the present moment throweth away all that he hath. As the arrow passeth through the heart, while the warrior knew not that it was.
You’ll seldom experience regret for anything that you’ve done. It is what you haven’t done that will torment you. The message, therefore, is clear. Do it! Develop an appreciation for the present moment. Seize every second of your life and savor it. Value your present moments. Using them up in any self-defeating ways means you’ve lost them forever.
Most people find it difficult to believe that a state of consciousness totally free of all negativity is possible. And yet this is the liberated state to which all spiritual teachings point. It is the promise of salvation, not in an illusory future but right here and now.
A happy man is too satisfied with the present
to dwell too much on the future.
